For over a hundred years, an exceptional program in Hungary has developed innumerable great mathematicians, engineers, and scientists. For over fifteen years now, Mr. Tivadar Divéki, who participated in it as a student in Hungary, has run a similar endeavor on the internet, on a purely non-profit basis, in the U.S. The focus of this latter program, the Paul Erdős International Math Challenge, (known as Abacus before 2015) has been at the elementary and middle school level. The senior trustees can personally attest to its efficacy in inculcating a love of mathematical thinking - their children participated in it, and benefited immensely. As its inaugural project, the trust is rolling out this program in India.
